Abstract In this paper, we propose a novel, miniaturized non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) CO 2 sensor implemented on a silicon chip. The sensor has a simple structure, consisting of a hollow metallic cylindrical cavity along with access waveguides. A detailed analysis of the proposed sensor is presented.

Built-in temperature sensor can do temperature compensation; and it has digital output and analog voltage output. This commons type infrared gas …
NDIR is an industry term for " nondispersive infrared ", and is the most common type of sensor used to measure carbon dioxide, or CO2. An infrared (IR) lamp directs waves of light through a tube filled with a sample of air toward an optical filter in front of an IR light detector.
A NDIR sensor (Non Dispersive Infrared), as indicated by its name is a spec-troscopic type of sensor that uses infrared sources. It is mainly composed of an infrared lamp, an optical cavity and a dual channel detector. Light from the infrared source passes through the optical cavity where it inte-racts with the gas before affecting the active channel. This channel is fitted with a band-pass filter that allows …
Non-dispersive infrared, often called NDIR, sensors deliver high accuracy and fast response time. NDIR sensors have no contact with the gas, making them more reliable, and are constructed for specific gases so that they are unaffected by other gases. NDIR sensors are the most reliable method for detecting carbon dioxide gas.
Non-Dispersive Infrared (NDIR) technology is the most common method of measuring CO in Indoor Air Quality analyses. The NDIR sensor consists of the following (see image below): 1) Infrared (IR) Lamp, 2) Gas Sample Chamber, 3) Wavelength Filter, and 4) an IR Detector.

29/03/2019· Non‐dispersive infrared (NDIR) sensors use the concentration‐dependent absorption of electromagnetic radiation in the IR range. NDIR gas sensors use often a reference channel besides the measurement channel to compensate disturbing effects, for example by temperature or by ageing of the IR radiation source. Most common detectors in NDIR sensors are pyroelectric detectors and …

of IR light. In an NDIR sensor measuring CO˚, a Wavelength Filter placed just before the IR Detector only allows that wavelength of IR energy absorbed by CO˚ to pass through. The IR Detector measures the concentration of that wavelength of IR light after it has passed through the sample. This is a non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) approach. It has been shown (Jacquinot P. 1954 J. Opt. Soc. Amer. 44, 761-765) that optical filters are typically 1000 times more efficient than gratings and up to 100,000 times more efficient than prisms at separating IR wavelengths, so NDIR gas sensors offer real performance advantages over dispersive systems and are the systems of choice.
12/08/2015· The CO2 Analyzer use multi-component analysis by using Non Dispersive Infrared (NDIR) sensor technology for consistent, precise process gas measurement. The Non Dispersive Infrared (NDIR) detection method is based upon the absorption of infrared radiation at specific wavelengths as it passes through a volume of sample.
Non-Dispersive Infra-Red (NDIR) detectors are the industry-standard method of measuring the concentration of carbon oxides (CO & CO 2). NDIR sensors are based on infrared spectroscopy, the principle that molecules absorb specific light frequencies that are characteristic of their structure. NDIR sensors for carbon dioxide are often encountered in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning …
Non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) is a physical sensing technique that provides a number of advantages over catalytic gas sensing method. The main feature of this technique is that fixed narrow-band filters are utilized with separate IR detectors to detect a few gas absorption lines across a restricted wavelength range. This helps in eliminating the dispersive potion of a gas spectrometer. The simple design of the …
